Our Beliefs

What we believe at Living Word about God, Salvation, and more

At Living Word, We Believe...

TRINITY

... in the Triune nature of God. We believe in one eternal God existing in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The three are coequal and one God.

GOD

… that God the Father is Creator of all things. He is infinitely perfect, totally loving, and completely holy.

JESUS CHRIST

… that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and walked the earth as fully God and fully man. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life and died on a cross as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of mankind. He was resurrected on the third day and ascended into heaven and is now at the right hand of the Father as our High Priest and Advocate.

THE BIBLE

… the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God and the foundation of truth by which we live. It was penned by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. In the Bible, we find the revelation of God’s will for the salvation of men, and the divine and final authority for the Christian life.

— 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Psalms 119:105, Matthew 7:24-27, John 17:17, 2 Peter 1:20-21

SALVATION

… salvation is God’s free gift to us, but each individual must accept it. All mankind is guilty of sin, which separates us from our holy God, but the gift of forgiveness and salvation is free for those who call on Jesus for forgiveness. Spending eternity in Heaven is based on a decision to invite Jesus Christ into one’s life, thereby initiating a personal relationship with Him as Lord and Savior.
