At Living Word, We Believe...
... in the Triune nature of God. We believe in one eternal God existing in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The three are coequal and one God.
… that God the Father is Creator of all things. He is infinitely perfect, totally loving, and completely holy.
… that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and walked the earth as fully God and fully man. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life and died on a cross as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of mankind. He was resurrected on the third day and ascended into heaven and is now at the right hand of the Father as our High Priest and Advocate.
… in the present, supernatural ministry of the Holy Spirit. His purpose is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ. During this age, He indwells, guides, instructs, and empowers the believer for godly living and service. The infilling of the Holy Spirit is available to all.
… the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God and the foundation of truth by which we live. It was penned by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. In the Bible, we find the revelation of God’s will for the salvation of men, and the divine and final authority for the Christian life.
… salvation is God’s free gift to us, but each individual must accept it. All mankind is guilty of sin, which separates us from our holy God, but the gift of forgiveness and salvation is free for those who call on Jesus for forgiveness. Spending eternity in Heaven is based on a decision to invite Jesus Christ into one’s life, thereby initiating a personal relationship with Him as Lord and Savior.
HEAVEN & HELL
… both heaven and hell are a reality. Hell is a place of eternal punishment separated from the presence of God. Heaven is a place of eternal blessing in the presence of God.
THE NAME OF JESUS
… in the authority of the name of Jesus to which every knee shall bow and that the Name of Jesus brings victory over the power of evil.
… in the reality and personality of Satan, the adversary, and his demons, who are the enemies of our God and His Church. He is a defeated foe and under the feet of the believer by the victory that Jesus won over him through Christ’s sacrificial death, burial, and resurrection.
… in water baptism by immersion in the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The one being baptized must knowingly have made the decision to follow Christ and desire to express that their old self has passed away and they have new life in Christ.
BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
… that the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues is available for every believer today and the gifts of the Spirit as seen in the New Testament scriptures are still in operation today.
… that divine healing of the whole person is available today for the spirit (heart), soul (mind, will, emotions), as well as the physical body from sickness and disease.
… life begins at conception. God gives us the honor of partnering with Him to create human life – life that carries with it an eternal spirit. At the very moment of its creation, each and every human being is created in the image of God and possesses intrinsic dignity and worth.
… marriage, as God designed it, is a covenant between one man and one woman characterized by love, faithfulness, and devotion to one another. It is an honorable and holy commitment before the Lord that must be guided by love, honesty, loyalty, fidelity, trust, and forgiveness.
THE RETURN OF CHRIST
… in the return of Jesus Christ, both in His personal coming for His church in what is commonly referred to as the “rapture” of the Church, and also in the second coming wherein He descends to earth in the same manner that He ascended to judge the world and reign in supreme majesty forever.
